DALLAS – Wingstop was chosen by the
festival committee as the best overall wing company at the fifth
annual National Buffalo Wing Festival in Buffalo , N.Y. on
Sunday, Sept. 3. Wing King is the highest award given,
exemplifying the best tasting wings, the ultimate in enthusiasm
and spirit, and the fans favorite overall wing restaurant.
“We were proud to be honored with the 2006 Wing King award. To
be recognized by festival promoters as embodying the spirit,
enthusiasm and flavor of the National Buffalo Wing Festival – is
truly an honor,” said Dave McDonald, director of technical
services and Wingstop’s festival organizer. “We start planning a
year in advance and had our sights setting on being named the
Wing King this year. Chicken wings are our passion, we love
showing it and this year being named Wing King proves it.”
For the third consecutive year, Wingstop’s Atomic sauce was
ranked as one of the top three Traditional Extra Hot Sauces at
the festival.
Festival attendees were entertained at Wingstop’s booth with
Atomic wing eating challenges for adults, lemon pepper wing
eating contests for children and stick horse races while they
waited to chose from five of Wingstop’s nine proprietary flavors
that were available at the festival.
